#ITSNOTOK – 16 Days of Activism Webinar

Array ( )
Online event

This year, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, led by the UN, calls for “calls for global actions to increase awareness, galvanize advocacy efforts, and share knowledge and innovations” and commences from 25 November – 10 December. This will be an opportune time to once again raise our collective voice and act to bring about this change.

The Shared Value Africa Initiative, the supporter of the #ITSNOTOK Movement, alongside key stakeholders, will host a webinar during  16 Days campaign, and use that as a platform to continue this conversation, and most importantly, harness the collective power of business to act now.

Join us on 10 December as we mark the end of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence in a discussion with business leaders. The webinar will be led with a keynote address by Anne Githuku-Shongwe, Representative for UN Women’s South Africa Multi-Country Office (SAMCO), which is responsible for women’s empowerment and gender equality in Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and Namibia as well as South Africa.

While the event will feature key civil society leaders who have facilitated these important discussions during this crucial time, the core focus will be private sector measurable intervention and ongoing and consistent commitment to participating. The online medium also provides a safe space for an open discussion where business leaders can share actions taken, and to be taken, in the fight against this second pandemic. Women play an enormous role in our economy and we need to create support systems in the workplace for those who are affected by sexual harassment or GBVF.
