Living Planet Conference 2019

Array ( )
Standard event

As South Africans move to cities, and our income increases, so diets change. We eat more meat and dairy, waste more and over-rely on packaged and processed food. On the other hand, South Africa needs to produce 50% more food by 2050. We won’t be able to address our three big challenges of undernutrition, over-nutrition and the environmental degradation and climate impact from food production and consumption without a transformative change in our food system. This is the focus of the 2019 Living Planet Conference in Pretoria on 25 July.

Join WWF at the table via live streaming to debate, discover and taste the possibilities of a regenerative food system producing nourishing food for all. LPC 2019 is a collaboration of chefs, farmers, civil society, scientists, government and business, who will together explore holistic, long-term solutions to the three big food challenges. Expect a rich and immersive experience that will require us to tackle the issues intellectually and with compassion while also engaging the taste buds.
