#ITSNOTOK campaign continues to grow
The positive public response to our campaign against gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) has been strong and uplifting. Several large organisations have signed their pledge and committed to fighting against the scourge.
Still, we are looking for more corporates to join the campaign.
During South Africa’s Women’s Month in August, SVAI and partners including Gautrain, AdReach, JCDeCaux Africa, University of Johannesburg, and others joined the global #ITSNOTOK campaign. GBVF has during COVID-19 become the silent second pandemic, SVAI asked private sector leaders to pledge their support.
A key message to our corporate members is that we do not all have to have our “own” GBV campaigns. Silo-based responses reduce the positive impact that can be achieved in our fight against this national and global crisis.
It is clear that some GBVF building blocks are created within our companies and we need to act rapidly to change what is needed. Preferably acting together as the private sector, in order to focus on changing behaviour at scale. Please make eliminating GBVF – or any form of discrimination against women occurring within business – a key business aim.
